Real life in print.
Panos represents photographers and filmmakers determined to push boundaries, challenge assumptions and inspire change. After over 30 years of thriving in both commercial and non-profit sectors, the agency added a new arm to the business: prints.
The aim? To use their prints as a way of starting conversations, allowing a wide audience to take part in the exploration of social issues. At the same time, aiding the work of their photographers by providing a separate stream of income after a difficult year (global pandemic, if you remember).
We worked on positioning, naming, branding, packaging, print and digital comms to launch Panos Prints in 2021. A sensitive, collaborative, engaged team, Panos was a joy to work with – and their work is transformational to many.
By photographers who care, for people who care.
While we felt it was important to give Panos Prints a strong, recognisable brand – outshining competitor sellers – it was crucial the identity didn’t overpower the work of the photographers.
Along with empathy, accessibility and responsibility, an important brand value is connectivity. Fostering an emotive connection is key to how the organisation curates photographs, speaks to audiences and executes the Panos Prints endeavour.
You’ve got (eco-conscious) mail.
We helped Panos create a spec for the packages they send to customers – balancing quality, cost, quantity and environmental concerns. The packaging is designed to be as minimal and sustainable as possible, coming with only an information sheet that goes into more detail about the story behind the image.
The Giclée prints are produced using archival quality inks on Hahnemühle rag, protected with a biodegradable glassine bag – all contained in 100% home compostable and recyclable card envelopes.
Unexpected stories.
The website is a place to feature unexpected stories, and celebrate the work of the clients Panos represents. It’s not just an online shop. Stories and interviews are told and conducted in an emotive but down-to-earth way – intended to inspire and engage audiences, while starting a dialogue.
Ultimately, Panos Prints is for people who care about the world around them. They take great care in producing democratically priced, high-quality prints from some of the world’s leading photographers – with print sales supporting those photographers and their publishing of stories on issues that matter.
